Cast Away

Cast Away

A Poem by Panda
"

read and enjoy!!

"

The odd one out

Selfish, brought the family disgrace

Sort of like a rock

Rough, jagged, and out of place

Can never do well

Useless, imperfect in every way

Cast into a cold river

Because I let myself be led astray

Forced to grow up on the streets

Had to learn everything on my own

Managed to make my dreams come true

And I did it alone

Now you want to apologize

Make up for what you did wrong

Want to be the parents you should’ve been before

But don’t even try because what you did back then only made me strong

So don’t pretend you’re sorry

And don’t pretend I’m someone you know

I made it fine before and I can do it now

So leave me alone, I want you to go

I can do this myself

Your help isn’t something I need

Because when I look back on the day you pushed me away

I realize I was actually freed

Yes I may have forgiven you

But that doesn’t suddenly make it okay

Not until you gain a little understanding

On how it feels to be cast away
