A Rose By Candlelight

A Rose By Candlelight

A Poem by Panda

You're a candle lit fire
Burning away my thorns
Leaving scars when you're done
Before moving on to the next
Soon enough there won't be any left
Then how am I to defend myself
I am withering away
Never to see another day

My petals are crushed
I'm so far beyond help now
Slowly turning to smoke
On our lies I choke

Slowly being torn apart
And I'm helpless to watch
To suffer in the pain you cause me
But too weak to walk away
I am your oxygen, your life
But you only spell the death for me
This rose has lost it's beauty
Forgotten by all those who knew me

Burnt until nothing remains
Please don't breathe a word
I was your foolish little girl
But you were my world
