Should've Given You That Chance

Should've Given You That Chance

A Poem by Panda
"

Dedicated to the guy I've loved since grade six :) My love for you will never fade no matter how separated we become.

"

I got distracted by the affection from another

And I stupidly pushed you away

Only to get my heart torn open

How I’ll always regret that day

You were my best friend and someone I’ll always love

But it just wasn’t the kind of love you were looking for

If I knew what I know now what I didn’t know then

I would’ve taken that chance and opened that door

But we’re all just human and we make mistakes

And I just might be a little more foolish then the rest

But I followed my heart with all my faith

And now I can look back and say I did my best

It’s good to see you back in town

I’ve missed you more then words or actions can say

And now that you’re back is it still the way it was before

I want to get closer to you but you seem so far away

Made plans with you to meet face to face

And let me say it felt good to be in your embrace

You invited another one of your friends who was a girl

And her existence I soon wanted to erase

Because seeing you again had my emotions out of control

And I‘m thinking I should’ve given “us” a try

But now that time has passed us by

I realize I lost my chance and it makes me want to cry

I saw you smiling like how you did back then

Trying to make her laugh by acting like a clown

And I knew then you had finally moved on

That was when the tears started falling down
