The Heart Wants What It Wants

The Heart Wants What It Wants

A Poem by Panda

[Answering Machine]

We’re sorry we can’t reach the phone

We’re sorry we left you all alone

Girl: I’m sorry I have his keys

Boy: Baby forgive me please

[Girl]

Now how could I ever even think

Of hurting someone so dear

Lying next to him

My conscious isn’t clear

[Bridge]

But the heart wants what it wants

And I just can’t resist

The taste of the danger on his lips

Our bodies tangled together like this

[Chorus]

I was careless this time around

Didn’t know you were keeping an eye on me

I knew you had your suspicions

Didn’t think you’d figure it out

And now the lies come falling down

[Boy]

Never wanted to cheat

Never wanted to break your heart in half

“How could you?” She says

But I can’t help but laugh

[Bridge]

The heart wants what it wants

And I just can’t resist

The taste of the pleasure on her lips

Our bodies tangled together like this

[Answering machine: Interlude]

Girl: Just dropping by to say hi

Boy: Please don’t say goodbye

Girl: Wondering if you still want to be friends

Boy: I never meant to make you cry

[Chorus]

I was careless this time around

Didn’t know you were keeping an eye on me

I knew you had your suspicions

Didn’t think you’d figure it out

And now the lies come falling down
