A promise is a promiseA Poem by Orlando Murcia
After the hung over grief
that kept me sober through roaming streets
After the dissolution of confussion
from inebriated illusion
After eyelids became wet lips
from salivated burdens to closed curtains
There was a ripped artery in my pulse of heat
that may only be cured through one soultion
The cure was to say goodbye
to your diamond emerald colored eyes
To say farewell to your smile
that obviously blinds
It was to say never more
to your enchanted offspring galore
It was to say
Never again
forever more
forever more
But then....
I thought about the promise I made you
The promise to love you
when all false becomes true
If needed
Change the old wine skin
then replace it with new
I will forgive you with all of my tears
let you know I'm still here
then continue loving you from here on
to the upcoming years
For breaking this promise to you
would be worst
than anything you could ever do © 2010 Orlando Murcia |
