The Wedding Of My DreamsA Poem by Orlando Murcia
There you are,
Looking so breathtaking
in front of the sun
Your hair beams from reflection of sunset behind shades of wind
You are so beautiful !!
I walk slower than the sea turtles
in front of me
While dolphins
the glass of parted ocean
It's as if Moses split the Red Sea once again
Except the sea was not opened to deliver me from slavery
or any brutal King,
The sea parted so I may leave behind my past
and be with the one who I will forever be indebted to
You..
Yes, you my Queen
As I walk towards the sandy altar,
I walk over purple glittered starfish
that risked their breath for the ones to be
Thank you star fish
Thank you my open sea
that made this wedding a possibility,
and every other living creature here
but mostly you
As the turtles drift into the oceans gleam,
I am now ready to commit my being
unto you and only you
I take you by both hands,
that's the Que for the waters
to bow their heads above the sand
Now let us say I do
No need for ministers of faith
to declare us one,
but let us kiss in agreement
as I hold your pearl covered waist
from the dress that oysters birthed to place
Let us be in harmony and peace
and let the night never cease to fall asleep
May the celebration of our life begin
as we now place these lips as a promising of rings
We now pronounce each other
Husband and Queen
May the Heaven's smile,
as the dolphins that are no longer beneath us jump over our heads
declaring our love
