Dear Mrs. ReynoldsA Poem by Orlando MurciaDear Mrs. Reynolds,
First off, I just want to say thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration to me It was in your class that I experienced the flame of poetry... ... the flame that resembles the autumn and fall of your strawberry outlining... and the seeds that were pleasant ...around the fruit of your smile I remember how you would sigh every time I read a poem in front of the class I would blush like the orange tree that was planted on the citrus of your curls then would grin, on the belly where these words would eventually become my bread... ...until the last supper of my breath I just wanted to take the time to thank you... Thank you so much for bringing out the barren womb out of me that gave birth to this marvelous thing called poetry I will never forget how wonderful of a teacher you were to me And one day I will be bringing you a signed copy of my book, so you may see what you've sewn into the heart of a man that at one time had no soul... I love you Mrs. Reynolds And not of a love like Romeo had for Juliet... but of a love that a first grader has for his teacher, when he gives her a shiny red apple.. ...that he stuffed in his pocket and walked with until he reached the classroom of his heartbeat Thank you for being my teacher, my friend, my helper, and inspiration I will be sure to surprise you one of these days and read some of my poetry to your students... I hope for old times sake you could throw in a little sigh for me, I would really appreciate it Lol I hope you're doing well... There isn't a day that I don't acknowledge the virtue that you imparted into my life. I just wanted to say thank you... ... from the bottom of my being And hope to one day see you soon and share the cup of creative writing with you again. Sincerely, Your student that never got a chance to send you this letter... ...all because your b*****d husband took your life!!!! In Loving memory of Roberta Reynolds © 2013 Orlando Murcia |
