Born again?

Born again?

A Poem by silent JMT
"

a brief poem about a personal struggle with the strange concept of 'original sin' and loosing religion.

"

Born into Sin, into Lust, into Shame

Into Greed, into Hunger and all in the name,

Of a Godhead, an Idol, if you know please do tell,

Why you designed me in sickness and command me to be well?

Born into Sin, into Pain, sometimes Sorrow,

To Confusion, Contradiction, Illusion where Tomorrow,

I try to love, honour and pray,

But when I question your reasons, I get one answer, OBEY.

Born into sin, or was I at all?

Are you just fiction? Many tails are told tall.

How you exist, I believe is the key,

I can live without you, you can’t without me.

Born again, with a closed open mind,

Waiting for the next one, the latest big find,

To make its way, to my core I presume,

What and all I have left, it will take and consume.

This was awesome. I thought you were going to finish the fourth line with "condemn me to hell," but either way it works. You also brush a philosophical question, "does a thing exist just because we believe in it?" Cool

The poem is intense, filled with emotion. It has great metaphors within it. The repition of some of the lines adds to its overall greatness. Good job, and keep up the good work.
