A Story by silar

Most animal lovers agree there is nothing cutter than a cuddly, furry and playful kitten. They make great pets, but it is important to remember that kittens need special care to ensure they grow into healthy and well-mannered cats and all the cat supplies it is going to use is safe. If you are considering adopting a kitten, note that ideally kittens should stay with their mothers until they have all of their shots. At the age of six to eight weeks, kittens learn from their mothers what type of play are appropriate.

When it is time to bring your cat home, remember that each cat should be viewed as a distinct and separate individual with their own special needs. Keeping the kitten isolated upon arrival, await other pets in another quiet room for a few days helps the cat gains confidence in their new surroundings. Reserve some one-on-one play time with your cat, so you can both bond, encourage interaction and monitor behavior.

Kittens love to play, but do not encourage some reactions such as rough play or biting. This behavior won’t be so cute when your kitten grows up. Gently tap them on the nose and say no to correct behavior. It is important not to show your impatience and irritation at this stage. Gentle but firm communication is usually all that needed to put your cat on the right track. To keep your cat entertained, you may invest some cat toys and switch them often. Some toys like a cat LED laser toy can keep your kitten active and engaged.

Bad habits grow with repetition and easily forgotten when replaced with positive behaviors using interactive toys. Proper socialization and exposure to different situations will help your kitten grown into a confidence adult cat.
Remember that kittens are still learning what is safe and acceptable. Keep an eye on them so that they don’t get into situations where they can harm themselves. Soon you kitten will learn what expending energy and high spirit is behavioral when playing with other cats and not only owners. A kitten cat be an pressure addition to any family and home.
