Summer Is HereA Poem by sigourney"Summer is here Summer smells are in the air The sun sets a little later" For it's a sign of the times. Summer is here.Summer is here! Summer smells are in the air The sun sets a little later The morning air is a bit less crisp You feel today is really a new day. Ants crawl up your shoes, Craving the sticky sweetness of that juice on your leg Mosquitoes come around a little more often now And though you don't like them, You don't mind It's a sign of the times, For summer is here. The sun shines bright, The air is warm. Everyone is happy! Watermelon juice stains your shirt, You savor the sweet taste in your mouth, bringing back the memories of yesterday. Flies buzz around, Hoping to snag a salty piece of meat, Sizzling on the grill. The sky is carefully sprinkled with small cumulus clouds, Surrounded by blue and singing birds The mosquitoes are back, And though you don't like them, You don't mind, It's a sign of the times, For summer is here.
