The Musician's Woe

The Musician's Woe

A Poem by jes

Is it worth the cold nights?
The dehydration in the blazing hot sun,
the bloody scabs that cover your swollen feet,
the chalky calluses that form around your stubby fingers?
If you can no longer afford the comfort of hot coffee in the morning,
and the pocket change of strangers
that was left in your hat by the street
does not seem to be enough any longer,
is it worth it?
T
o be nothing-
To have nobody-
Is it really worth it?
For the sake of music,
Yes.
