What Love Means to MeA Poem by NightwindHow I chose to best respond when asked this questionWhen I am given the opportunity to fall in love with someone I show my appreciation as grateful as I can, as much as can be done. My heart establishes a link, wraps around your moods and feelings When you’re happy; I am happy. When you’re sad, I am reeling. When in love I want to do whatever it takes to make it better You can have whatever you want, just allow me this gift: to remember.
I’d learn how to dance the dance of dances, as various and in time If it meant your feet would stop in front of mine. I would gladly stop coaching a championship football game at its intense peak Just to answer your question behind the strategy of the quarterback sneak. When in love I would follow your team, and cheer for you anywhere Because I’d want you to know that no matter what, I’d be there.
We could go out to the most extravagant event that happens once in a lifetime To recall the best part of the event: being next to you would be mine Despite the fact our date would have to be one of a double endeavor For you and I would take a car together, our egos would have to take another When in love it doesn’t matter to me what we do For as time is spent, mine is well spent by being with you
Billions of people live in this world, many gentlemen worthy of courtship I have the honor of chance to prove my love in the trials of life Many obstacles set by you, by myself, by fate; forcing the possibility to slip Wonderful moments, pain without a weapons blow, charging forth in strife When in love, I give it all: my efforts, my resources, my abilities, ALL OF ME! Though I cannot fight fate; what will be…will be. But that is what love means to me. © 2011 Nightwind |
