Janie! Don’t You Take Your Love to Town

Janie! Don’t You Take Your Love to Town

A Poem by Siddharth
"

Janie is a girl who's reckoned to get back her lost love but fate has something else in store for her. She was down with the anguish that captured her in the dark.

"
One fine evening I was walking down the lane
Was flabbergasted how it could happen to me
Couldn’t let my mind let go of commotion and pain
Slammed into a mysterious dame soaked in sympathy

Could she be the woman I yearned for right through my life?
Was knocked for six when she leaked her name Janie
If I could get well-versed with the lady without any strife
She was wretched and was down with manie

Janie was left stranded and her love has flown
She chose to go by the act of locomotion
She had her mind in a swing that was not grown
Never thought she would gulp the love potion

Janie did take her love to town
Life was a game that needed to be handled with care
Wondered she would ever come across the frown
Her ticker was crushed and filled with despair
