Death to my Inner Child

Death to my Inner Child

A Poem by Sidonna

Dancing with the shadows

On these bare walls

Taking comfort in chaos

My pride gets in the way

This is the the price I must pay

If I want to save the day

The hero in me/The love that I get

There's no savior/I must admit

Only the shadows knows my truth

Behind the door lies the lost child

The secret maze of lies and hates

Becomes harder and harder to navigate

The child inside wishes for a simplier times

The warrior shows no mercy

Death to my inner child

Only the shadows know my pain

Quite dramatic. Good poignancy though some stronger word usage may be a good idea. i.e. less literal more lyrical.
