Will You Find Me?

Will You Find Me?

A Poem by Sid

Shadows creep even as the temple burns

The ground beneath me gives way

To darkness, unrelenting and all consuming

The dull embers but a distant memory

I remember the warm touch of

Fingers grasping at my cold wrist

Their warmth burning my skin

Desperate to keep the dark at bay

You were there as the fire slowly died

And hope was extinguished

You were the light for my dark

You were my refuge in times of doubt

Now deeper I fall as the dark devours me

I go numb as I give in to the demon

The pain slowly rises amidst the silence

Screaming a chaotic lullaby

I awake upon the black shores

The sea a deathly quiet crimson

I wander the land, alone and forgotten

And wait for the touch of warmth

As the ages pass and the sliver of moon dies

And the black reaches a crescendo

I sit there blind and gasp a final time

“Will you find me where I am now?”

Wow. I actually read this three times. I really like it. I found it dramatic and leaves with a mystery..
