Awakening

Through forests, through streams

I ran, a free soul, bound to nothing

The wind in my ears, whispering of a utopia

The sun of dawn, illuminating my path in gold

The birds above forming my crown, chirping joyously, leading my path.

 

Through the meadows I ran, one with the wind

The green plains, the blossoms, gently kissing my path

Weaving through the trees, accompanied by myriad animals

I was headed for the valley, the end of the line

The breaking of the final shackle, freeing from all bounds.

 

When at the edge, the zenith, I leapt forward into the unknown

The wind roaring in my ears, a warm cradle, rocking me gently

The serenity of the birds, the tranquility of floating clouds, forever mine

The valley below, nature’s playground, colors interwoven in delicate rituals

The azure sky above me, her mantle, wrapped tightly into infinity.

 

As I soared ever nearer to the sun, I felt a clarity absent before: an epiphany

It was not the sun I sought, nor was it in the sky high above

But rooted it was on earth, in the beauty around me, in the heart of all I loved.

With the dawning realization, disappeared the everlasting dream, clarity was mine

And awaken I did from my deep slumber, born anew.

A wonderful write.

As I was allowing it to wash over me I was thinking "this is like a dream" then came the last two lines and I felt the aahhh that comes with a returning loved friend, the recognition of the whole, the perfect completion.

this has a recurring theme of the path taken, the wind and the sights and sounds of nature. this must have been one blissful and vivid dream indeed. anyway, you have penned this beautifully and i think it is one of your best yet. very nice.
