DirgeA Poem by SidFlying
beasts, lost in space The
falling rain, cleansing tears The
gathering fog, a misty veil The
dancing clouds, a menacing prelude The
mighty Sun, a mere shadow.
The
inevitable gathering, the stars The
deepening night, dawning serenity Brewing
rage, the sky ablaze Red
petals, a bloody rain The
crimson trees, bleeding life.
The
ashen roads, ominous warnings The
concrete jungle, draped in mystique Their
masked facades, a hideous play The
opening ravines, a fiery red The
depth beyond, a black abyss.
The
scorching flames, rising inferno Swallowing
worlds, it all burns The
devastating light, a million suns The
sweltering heat, destructing life The
anguished earth, seeking solace.
The
gentle water, coming relief The
increasing flow, inevitable doom The
daunting waves, indestructible walls The
versatile water, flooding every crevice The
new nightmare, choking life.
The
gentle zephyr, a prologue The
gathering black, approaching storm The
relentless winds, mighty juggernauts The
battered resistance, crushed mirthlessly The
destructed world, the dirge absolute. © 2012 SidAuthor's Note
