Uroboros

Uroboros

A Poem by Sid
"

About the great circle that is life

"
The mighty circle of life
By the Uroboros, personified
The myriad karmic threads of life
By the Uroboros, unified.
A drop from the soul stream falls
On Earth a child is born
Leaves behind the void walls
Spreads out its arms wide
Embraces humanity’s mighty halls.
The nascent stage of life,
By the Uroboros, sanctified
The new genesis of life
By the Uroboros, vivified
The young adult flies
Earthly shackles sturdily bind
To break the bonds he tries
Pulled back to the earth
He longs only for the skies.
The budding dreams of life
By the Uroboros, dignified
The strong longings of life
By the Uroboros, deified.
The imminent old age
He longs for the soul stream
The stars in the sky wage
An unrelenting pull for serenity
With death the final stage.
The mighty circle of life
By the Uroboros, personified
The myriad karmic threads of life
By the Uroboros, unified.

Sid, I think someone would have to know India and the spirituality of its sites to appreciate the profound nature of this work. I was in New Delhi three years ago and went on to Nepal and had the opportunity to learn something of the energy of the spirit that moves across the land. Thank you for this one. I was drawn to it and it took me back.
