MilestonesA Poem by Siddhartha. As one chapter ends and another
starts It brings with it a set of
fresh promises And hopes of a joyously iridescent
future To wipe away the memories of a foregone
past
As the lost ship finds its way
to the land It knows neither the cruel
waves nor the rains But only the longing of the
lovelorn shore Seeking to unite with its beloved
once more
And when the wounded soldier
returns home It isn’t the bullets that
pierce his mind Nor the landmines that maim his
heart But the call of his betrothed
that draws him blind
Thus are the ways of this
wondrous world What drives men isn’t the quietly
fading past Though it stays buried deep
inside their hearts But the future and the
possibilities it heralds
Carpe
Diem…
