Chasing RabbitsA Poem by SiddharthaChased a rabbit out of my
surreal mind While you were sobbing over
dreams unkind Fell into a chasm of evanescing
memories Wrapped in recursive boxes with
shiny binds
The white knight keeps stabbing
my mind While the red queen is a lady
most unkind The mad-hatter cries over
things you pined The stars melting in my
time-warped mind
Mist laden roads promise no
retreat Your mind delirious in its
feverish beat Long dead souls crying in this
grim street Vacant eyes looking for their lovers
to meet
The mist of your mind infects
my mind’s eye Lost in this strange place of
no goodbyes Searching for Alice but her
memory now dies Dries your tears as ballistic
time flies
Took the red pill and felt
alive in death Heard the raucous noise of your
dying breaths Felt Alice running through my
mind’s minefields As the land reversed to show
the realm beneath © 2012 SiddharthaFeatured Review
