summer

summer

A Poem by Siddhartha

the coarse summer rains
cut my skin

the harsh summer winds
scald my lips

the cruel summer rays
blind my eyes

but you, O love,
burned
my heart

Powerful poem, even the heat of Summer can not hide the pain of love.

A powerful poem showing how love has more force than the sun. You employ classical imagery to masterful effect. The short, succinct lines and omission of the fullstop ensure that the full "punch" (that's how it feels) within this poem is delivered. A great write.
