A pair of blue eyes
Encompass the world within
As their sight alights on my eyes
A kaleidoscope enthralls my senses
Memories of previous lifetimes
Come swirling back again
Is this only a fleeting moment?
Or a part of the game
That reunites old souls
To their anchors in the seas
Faraway the wind blows stronger
The butterfly seems more radiant
The rainbow is but a bridge
That ties two beating hearts together
And the spring blows sweet melodies
That draw me to her
And I let go of myself
For it is no use fighting
When the universe has a plan for you
The predestination of true love is exquisitely captured in this poem. You deal with the theme so sensitively and engage classic symbols in a new way which reflects how people come to reexamine the world when they are in love. An excellent poem.
" The rainbow is but a bridge
That ties two beating hearts together" .... beautiful lines... in a free flowing verse and drizzle of emotions.. great work.. the universe has a plan for everyone...
I love how you use metaphor in this poem as *more* than just a way to paint a pretty picture... you actually tie them into the transitions. Really unique. "The anchors in the seas, the rainbow is but a bridge"... good, good!
