Snippets From A LifeA Poem by SiddharthaThe window of opportunity That lured me in Deserted me again Leaving me cold and dry Colder still But my heart rejoiced That I gave an honest try Between a fool and a hard place I chose the fool He was good company Though a bore And I got by With a patient hearing Rather than sit on the rock And get my a*s sore They closed all the doors And let me drift Against the current I swam With patience and thrift Lest cruel chance Give me again the short shrift Relations were demanding Of gifts and courtesy calls But I had none of the drivel I did not have time enough To achieve my goals So it wasn't my fault If you felt That it was all pretense Of having the balls and the gall The friends of springtime Deserted me in the rains But I did not lose heart I made new friends Adversity drew us in We smiled through pain And fervently hoped That we will have Spring again Now that I approach Life's last lap Death does not deter me Nor am I afraid For I have lived and loved Been to everywhere And death is the final frontier For me to conquer
