Field Of Dreams

Field Of Dreams

A Poem by Siddhartha

What longing does the sailor find in his lover's sighs
What hope makes the athlete give yet another try
What happiness does the mother find in her baby's first cries
What courage makes the soldier fight on the battlefield and die

What treasure lies there buried
What glory lies there unearthed

What distinguishes success from mediocrity
What defines the man who carries on despite adversity

When the pain becomes unbearable and the heart starts to scream
What keeps a man going is his field of dreams

Brilliant! Short, but brilliant! This is really simple, and sweet and very good indeed. Beautifully written.

Questions worth asking..Sid, it's a simple poem but only in the way it presents itself but not in the way it unfolds inside our minds..I love the first four lines..Questions I would love to know the answer of..Not a philosophical retort or anything..A great, valid poem..Well done my friend !!

Your questions are stunning and deep, striking to the core of our being... Richly woven, your last lines perfectly set the tone.. something I won't soon forget... Things I've been wondering about myself lately..
