That Girl

That Girl

A Poem by Siddhartha
"

An experimental poem in which I have followed a recursive style that you will get to know as you read the poem.

"

Days pass by quickly

Nights are quicker still

Memories coming back afresh

Making the consciousness whirl

And swirl sending me into a tizzy

Dizzy with alcohol and drugs

And the lingering memories of that girl

Who stayed on for a fleeting moment

A moment that became an eternity

An eternity that swallowed me whole

Only a part of me remains

That exhorts me back to life

A burning life hauled over the burning coals

Searching everywhere for some sanity

Or a semblance thereof or a cure

A cure for my bleeding heart

An anodyne for my vanity

. this piece of poetry is beautifully written ... i like the last line a lot (in particular) ... "anodyne" is one of my favourite words ...
