Waiting Words

Waiting Words

A Poem by Siddhartha

I see you standing at the corner

Your eyes a hazel blue

A shade lighter than the seas

And the day blurs; the Sun flutters

I nudge myself through the aisles

To find you browsing a Murakami

Not one of those have I ever read

I stand, fiddling through a Coetzee

Hoping you pick up a Rushdie instead
