A Poem by Siddhartha

Flaw

------------------------------------------------------

The soft crease on an ironed shirt

The gentle sputter when a motor starts

The fog cutting through spring mornings

The guilt hidden in the noblest of hearts

Hope

------------------------------------------------------

The moonbeam wounding the forest dark

The night’s reticence ruffled by a skylark

The poet stirring up raging hearts

The wildfires lit by a lonesome spark

Being

------------------------------------------------------

To breathe is to live; to exist is to be

Conformity is death, of body and spirit

To break out, like the waves at sea

To prevail, with courage and grit

Becoming

------------------------------------------------------

To take mossy, forgotten pathways

Some roads are lost to be found

To take detours, stop awhile to stay

To find yourself, infinite and unbound
