Anticipation

Anticipation

A Poem by Siddhartha

Anticipation

The solitary traveler of uncharted dreams
Cannot tell where it ends from where it begins
As in the expanse of that moment of truth
He begins to see what true desire means

For the remembrance of her being
Brings a momentary lapse of spring
Which in the raging summer heat
Carries a tempest of love-soaked winds

Intoxicated in its fiery spell
The skies wobble as the world spins
The trees sway and the cuckoo sings
And he writes what her memories bring

And he writes, and writes and writes
A succor from the loneliness of night
Awaiting the dawn to burn him bright
As the night gets kissed by the light
