A Poem by Siddhartha

Your eyes are like the shooting stars

Which streak across the night skies

And I make a wish hoping it comes true

That I seize this moment before time flies

You sit in a corner oblivious of the crowd

Of the skipped heartbeats; of the suppressed sighs

Of the moon you eclipsed or the stars you hid

Of the truth of your soul in this valley of lies

And I will call the seas; I will call the breeze

To drench your face, and to kiss your hair

Then I will call the Sun to shine on you

And the day will be dazzled by a face this fair

Tonight of all nights my pen writes

And it writes about you as is only right

For you are the light that guides me in the dark

You are the dawn I seek in the darkest of nights
