Loss

Loss

A Poem by Siddhartha

I would have let you go
But your presence defines my being
And in the barren desert of my life
You are my only hope of spring

I would have let you go
But there is a thread joining our lives
To cut it would be to bleed my heart
So I let it keep your memories alive

I would have let you go
But my pen writes of you tonight
And it writes, and writes, and writes
Even when you are so out of my sight
