Moondust

Moondust

A Poem by Siddhartha

Tonight of all nights
Your light shines the brightest
Its radiating affection
Casting an iridescent
Glow in my soul

And wrapped in its innocence
The rose casts itself a blood red
Bleeding from tip to tip
Basking in the white kisses
That the Moon sends over
As tokens of unrequited love

Someplace else the snow thaws
Its gently softening heart
Yielding to the selfsame pleasure
That keeps calling the sea breeze
To rush inland in the deathly night
A stark reminder of the promise
It made to the land it was destined
To depart when morning came

Tonight of all nights
Shall I put pen to paper
Each bleeding drop of ink
A memento of memories
Which come rushing in
Like waves unbound
And in their wake leave
Sands of forgone lands
