 I can now see this world

I believe I now can surely see

This world for what it is

Beneath the gloss, the glamour

The silken smiles, fake gossamer

Lies and deceit

 

I believe I now surely can

Look beyond what my eyes see

Thoughts clouded by perception

Resting on falsity, conceit

A web of thoughts impure

Beyond the obvious obfuscation

Innocence, impeached

 

Beneath the beat of your pulse

Lies the realm of soul-bursts

Beyond the obvious, the crude

Is the land of a billion dreams

Of opportunities and possibilities

Come true by the heart’s quiver

Arrows of hope amidst defeat

Hope in a heartbeat
