Questions

Questions

A Poem by Siddhartha

Why do we say hello in a minute

And take forever to say goodbyes

Why do we inexplicably fall in love

When it ends in tears and sighs

Why is the world so full of sadness

And so lacking in celebrations

Why are there borders and fences

War-cries of misguided passion

Why is the past always so pleasant

And the present so filled with pain

Why do our memories deceive us

Why do we suffer for so little a gain

Why do we keep betraying our hearts

Living sorry lives of concealed shame

Why do we keep searching for answers

When we could will and write them

I love this! These are the questions that more and more people should ask but i think that laziness and fear have become more prominent human traits than creativity and willpower. Keeping asking the questions is what I do eventually the answers will echo back... we just have to keep asking!

A simple poem, addressing a common feeling, but a valid one. Why indeed...?
It doesn't feel finished, caused by the fact that "them" doesn't rhyme well. Is this deliberate? Are you still editing the poem?
