You

You

A Poem by Siddhartha

My mind runs back to that day again
The day when I was destined to meet you
You were standing alone, cold and aloof
But your eyes which refused to meet mine
Had a grace truer than the world I knew

Words which were lost on the lips then
Still roam around in the wilderness of love
But there is a strange comfort in silence
One which brings us closer every moment
Speaking more than mere words ever would

The Sun and the surf all seem remnants
Of the love that radiates out from you
The stars shine brighter by your presence
The heady waves gently caress the shores
The skies become a darker shade of blue

This moment that touches us together
Seems truer than the truest I knew
And every word, I write on this paper
And every face, I see in the crowd
And everything I do, it seems to be you
