Cruel Night, Heartless Lover

Cruel Night, Heartless Lover

A Poem by Siddhartha

Cruel night, heartless lover

Now lonelier than when I met you

I walk the lonely roads of time

Staring at my past and present

Scarred as they are by your presence

I keep searching everywhere

But your presence eludes me

As does your gently flowing hair

Shining radiantly in the summer Sun

I miss the generosity of kind fate

That interweaved our destinies

I miss the mist laden roads we walked

Your arms firmly interlocked in mine

Darkness prevails within and outside

But the faint moonbeam that cuts across

Bleeds hope onto the tortured soul

That a cosmic conspiracy will once again

Rendezvous the travelers separated

By the vicissitudes of time and fate
