Society

Society

A Poem by Siddhartha

Distant hills, blue skies, and purple haze

Screeching wheels navigating lost paths

In a mirage of dreams, hazy and fleeting

Evanescing in time, for nothing ever lasts

Cold windy gusts, gentle and harsh

Sparkling stars, sprinkling light afar

Swaying trees, cutting moonbeam in parts

Broken silence, rustling leaves in the air

Interweaving paths, old trails, lost and found

Adrift signboards springing back in the mind

Bringing back memories smothered by time

Joining again the strands that were left behind

Detours, milestones, and foregone bylanes

Once traversed, but now scarcely admitted

Such are the trappings of time and place

That the mind forgets for what the heart bled

Very rich expressions....great confluence of feelings pouring in from the delight of reminiscence and the sadness in failing to hold it forever....
