A Poem by stanley
"

poetry of joy

"
My heaviest starry night
weighed down by my heaviest yoke
joys of momentary pain
sting my heart with sadness
let me be.

Let me breath with steady heave from darkened fumes
with smokey tinted windows
my vision is deferred
with less might to uplift this yoke
the dusk has fallen on me
let me be

these are dead bones of my unburied pain
the death of my pride
the unavailing of my character
my songs of jest are swallowed
dead within my darkened soul
let me be.

let me stride with hope
be jovial in pain
be in oneness with hope
let my songs of morrow be echoed
let me mimic the sirens from the goldfinches
with pride and hope i parade
like a mad man who embraced his insanity
embraced his joyful-sorrows

let me be.
