Befriended SerpentA Poem by stanleypoem about friendship betrayalBefriended SerpentYour beautiful discourse of friendship inspiredUnsuspected joy in our journey, dear friend. The grandness of your reassurance left me in perplexes. The unshackling of my chains you bestowed on me, dear friend, Uplifted my heavy yoke. We flowed like the open stream surrounded by all that is natural Beneath the fisherman we marvel at them, like fish we wearied the bait, Forewarn each other. We toiled with joy and felicitous chains binding us into one All is but left behind, disputes we pacifist, thus You revealed my true countenance and knew my incognito Unveiled my insecurities My insensitivity My calamity Thus minds alike contrive alike, one soul occupied two physicality One supporting the other and qualms relinquished. The relation was well rooted Unearthing the holy orchid My being was totally nonchalant and brassy in bondage Till ‘the rainy sunrise descended, the sun blazing Emptied the stream and all was fading You unveiled your true self, the cloth was uplifted The phantom re-imaged. Your beneath was a serpent Like a wild beast your vices was hidden from me since birth Your large fangs, slithering texture and red gauging eyes Left me perplexed Gasping for breath like an unearthed fish Death of the open stream Joyous triumph from the fisherman I am his spoil While you stood steadfast Priding at my discomfort © 2015 stanley |
