Two smiling faces

Two smiling faces

A Poem by Siba Smarak Panigrahi

When dark fell upon me,
I saw two faces smiling at me,
Giggling, laughing
And even mocking me!
What those silly foolish children knew about me?
Yeah, I was older than them
Complete fifty years.
But they were cunning
Expert at trickery, fudging someone
That was me.
Last year I had caught them
Warned them
Made I a mistake,
Of thinking them children.
They had planned
Since long ago,
I  guess for last whole damn year,
Had no hint of it,
When it finally came
It washed everything away.
This was last of it,
For I was leaving
Far from their eyesight,
Never to return here,
Never to return here.
But what was that,
I was much older
But they went out of eyes so soon,
In the blink of eye,
Two disgusting figures,
Took them away.
Free them, I beg you,
For I am no more to free them
For I am no more to free them.
