In the Darkness

In the Darkness

A Poem by Free Birdie
"

The internal peace through internal sleep

"
I look upon the darkness
I am less
Less than the consumer
Happiness but a rumor
I look into the night
My chest is tight
I breathe in then out
I am lost without a doubt
I begin to slip
My heart began to rip
I feel gone
I gave a meek yawn
Into internal sleep
Six feet deep
I am forever down
I left with a frown
Never to awake

Very clever and dark. This takes me back reading Edgar Allan Poe's poems. They're beautifully crafted, but they have a lot of dark themes. Nevertheless, nice job.

You have no reason to be shy about your writing. Beautifully crafted. You paint a picture of confusion and conflict in masse very clearly and lyrically. The loss or death of the spirit. Simple is sometimes just fine for conveying a deep meaning. Very well done. I enjoyed it.
