Too soon

Too soon

A Poem by shydarkrose101

My body trembled as I walked down the aisle.

As I looked around, I managed a weak smile.

Roses were everywhere and the organ played a tune.

All I could think was that this was way too soon.

We would have forever, never to be apart.

And then I stood beside you with a heavy heart.

Your face was pale; your hands were cold in mine.

I whispered to you about everything being fine.

I turned and kissed your cheek as the minister came near.

He said the words that family and friends wanted to hear.

I told you that I loved you, what else could I say?

And then they closed the casket and carried you away.

I was tricked! I thought this was going to be about a wedding going wrong and a bride being forced to marry, but it turned out to be a funeral D: I was generally surprised, so well done to you :P
