THERE WAS IT

THERE WAS IT

A Poem by shyama

Dull, dark, deadly

Were all that surrounded her,

Tunnel after tunnel

Was what bounded her.

Enervated,self abnegated

She sat there with no hope,

The sharp wind and the roaring waves ,

Brought to her hands the rope.

“There it is, there it is”

Someone called out  to her,

The sun shone bright, spreading the light

Leaving her miserable thoughts as they were.

There it was…the joy and the calm,

There it was…all the sugar raining sweetness.

The glory, the beauty…it just came,

It seemed as if she had won all it in a game.

‘there it was…the charm and the melody

With her wings wide open, she was all ready.

Ready to fly high, ready to live up to her dreams,

She stood merrily and screamed!
