DESTINY…

The story about LOVE, LIFE, & HAPPINESS.

Nobody knows what’ll happen tomorrow. Today we are happy  but tomorrow we may not be. Today we have everything but tomorrow we don’t know where we’ll be. Yes, this is destiny…our destiny which takes us anywhere without our expectations. EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON DESTINY.

Here is a story of a girl, a story about love, life & happiness. A girl who was destined to loose everything she had, everything she got and every dream she dreamt for herself. She was alone but gave happiness to others. There were many questions in her mind (what is the purpose of her life? ...why god has send her in this world when she has to live alone?...without love..without happiness..will she ever get love and happiness in her life or not… what is written in her destiny?).

THE STORY BEGINS….

A seven year old girl sitting alone in her room..busy with some pencils, papers, and crayons.

Somebody called out her name..

Siya ….dinner is  ready.

She replied, ‘yes mama’ and ran out to the dining area where her big family (uncles ,aunts, her parents, grandmother and her cousin brother and sister) was already present. The whole family with lots of discussion had their dinner. Siya, listening to all of them was having her dinner. She could not understand the purpose of the discussion. She quickly finished her dinner and ran back to her room, and again got busy with her stuff.

Siya was a small girl but full of imagination. She had her own ideas about her life. She was very small but wanted her life full of love and happiness. She had no space for hatred in her heart. She loved everything and everyone.

Next day, in the morning along with her cousin brother and sister, Siya went to the school. Her father always dropped them to the school. Her cousin brother Nakul who was 8 years old was the naughtiest child in the family. He was very close to Siya. They both were more like friends. They shared there toys, games, played together and sometimes they even had big fights. But end of the day they were always together.

Siya went into her classroom and saw her friends chatting and discussing about there vacations which were about to start. She stood there listening to her friends.

One said, ‘I am going to Dubai with my parents, my mamu lives there..i’ll have fun’.

Other said, ‘I’ll definitely go for river rafting in these holidays’.

Siya did not utter a word.

The school bell rang and it was time to study.

In the afternoon , after school with lots of things in her mind Siya was waiting for her father. Her father came and made her and her cousin brother sit on the scooter. On the way back home her father asked, ‘How was your day, bacho’.

Nakul with a grin on his face said, ‘I played a prank with my friend chachu..he was so scared, I really enjoyed today’. But Siya besides telling about her day asked her father, ‘Papa, where are we going these vacations’.

Father replied, ‘Where do you want to go? This time I’ll take you wherever you want to go’.

Siya was very happy. She said, ‘papa I want to visit many places. I want to see Essel world, zoo, Gateway of India and many other places’. Father said, ‘ ok ok, I’ll definitely take you to Essel world this time’.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Siya started dreaming about her vacations. She told all her friends and classmates. But her happiness was only for sometime. Her dreams faded one day..when her father met with an accident. It was just the beginning of her vacations. The whole family was in shock and so was Siya. She was very much attatched to her father. He was in a very serious condition.

One day her mother took her to the hospital. Siya wanted to see her father whom she had not seen for many days. One of the nurse’s took her to the I.C.U. She was scared to see her father lying on hospital bed with so many wires on his body. He was in coma.

In a sad tone she called her father, ‘papa..papa..please utho… ghar  jana hai’. But her father did not respond. She called again but again there was no answer. Siya started crying.

The doctor came and consoled her, ‘beta, papa is sleeping. He was tired so he is taking rest’. But Siya was not satisfied with what doctor told her. She asked him, ‘ uncle, mere papa ko kya hua hai, wo kab theek honge.. please doctor uncle unhe jaldi thik kardo.’.  Doctor replied “Don’t worry beta, your papa will be fine soon. Aap bas god se pray kia karo”.

Siyas  family use to chant some mantras daily with a mala in their hand. Siya remembering doctor’s words asked her aunt to teach her those mantras. Her aunt taught her how to recite those. As it was Siya’s vacations so she made a routine. She use to get up early in the morning, sat with her mala reciting mantras for hours.

Her mother use to go to the hospital early in the morning and came back late evening. Sometimes Siya also went to the hospital with her mother.

More than a month passed.

One day doctor came out of the I.C.U. and informed that her father is conscious and is out of danger now. But there will be some problems which he’ll have to face throughout his life.

The whole family was happy. Everyone was in tears. They thanked god for everything.

Siya was very happy. Her father came back home after so many days. He had problem in walking , needed support but still everyone was happy that he is safe and back home.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Life went smooth for sometime, her father recovered his health, though there were problems but it was manageable. Siya was in class 10th now. She often visited her maternal grandmother’s house which was nearby. She had a group of friends there from her childhood. The group was full of boys and girls. She enjoyed with them. All of them visited there grandmother’s house. They played together, enjoyed and had a good time. They all met once or twice a year, but they were always in contact. Though all of them were good friends but there was a friend who always made Siya feel special. He was almost four years elder to Siya. Whenever they met they shared there dreams, there future. Everyone called them best buddies.

Siya was a very kind hearted girl. Simple things attracted her more than complex or highly demanded things. She dreamt of becoming big by good ways. She wanted to help orphans and also visited various orphanages and NGOs several times. She never thought only about herself. Her mother always warned her, ‘Think about yourself Siya, the world is not so easy to live in. Nobody thinks about others. You are not realizing today, but one day u ll’. And she always smiled and answered, ‘ Everyone is not same maa… why are you always scared, trust me, nothing will happen. Just chill…

She never knew where her destiny will take her. She always dreamt of a life where she lived happily with her family with all the necessities of life. Like other people she also dreamt of being rich and also wanted luxuries.. but she wanted to earn those with her hardwork.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Time passed, Siya cleared her class 12th and was busy deciding her future. Her brother Nakul  went abroad for further studies.  She was confused what she should do. Somebody in the family suggested her to do B.COM, somebody said BBA. She was not able to decide what to opt for. There was no one who could guide her.

A  name clicked  “SIDDHARTH”.

Siddharth was her same friend with whom she shared everything. He lived in Chandigarh and every year visited her grandmother house which was near  Siya’s grandmother house. He was doing his MBA.

Siya called Siddharth. He answered the phone call and said, ‘hy, how are you’.

Siya replied-I’ m good but confused  .

SID- What happened dear, tell me. I am always there.

Siya- suggest me something. I am confused about my future.

She told her problem to Siddharth, he guided her and soon she found her way. She told her parents that she wants to do economics honors.  As economics was her favourite subject. The family was happy with her decision.

Soon Siya took admission in a college.

She was nervous as it was her first day and she’ll meet so many unfamiliar people. She entered her classroom .All the faces were new to her. Some were introducing each other, some were quiet. First Siya felt a little uncomfortable but soon she was ok.

The professor came and introduced himself, ‘Hello students, I am your professor. My name is V.K Bhatt.

I welcome you all to the beginning of your new life .Hope this will be the best part of your life. Wish you all good luck. Now I want all of you to introduce yourself to me and your batchmates.’

Then one by one everyone started introducing themselves. Soon all of them got familiar with each other. They laughed and enjoyed. Siya was very happy as her first day at her new college was awesome. She also exchanged her phone numbers with her few batchmates.

She went back home and decided to share her day with Siddharth. She called on his cell phone but, he did not answer the call. She tried again but he did not answer. Siya was upset as she wanted to share her experience with her best buddy but, he was not bothered. She was tired, asked her mother for food and went to sleep.

Next day, after college she again tried Siddharth’s  number. This time he answered and before Siya could say anything he said, ‘Sorry dear , I was busy with some work. Now tell me how was your first day at the college.’

Siya answered in a sad tone , ‘I am angry, I had so much to share with you but you are always busy. I don’t want to talk now.’ Siddharth explained her his problem why he was unable to attend her call and could not call back. She understood and was no more angry now and shared everything. He was happy for her.

After a long conversation Siddharth told her that he is coming to meet her grandmother soon and also asked her to come to her grandmother’s house so that they can also meet.

Before this Siddharth visited her grandmother 8 months back. He was very much attatched to her. But because of his studies he could not meet her for a long time.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Siya’s family was conservative and traditional. They did not like their daughters roaming around with boys. Though Siya and her cousins studied in a co-education school and even colleges still her male friends were not allowed to call her or come to her place even for school or any study related work.

No one in her family knew about her contact with Siddharth. Her mother and maternal grandmother knew Siddharth , but they were not aware about both of them still in contact with each other and share the same bond as in their childhood.

A week later Siddharth came. Siya also went to her maternal grandmothers house. In the evening both of them decided to meet in the same park where they use to play with their other friends. Siya reached before Siddharth. She sat on a bench waiting for him. Just few minutes later Siddharth also reached.

Siddharth was a tall and fair boy. He had expressive eyes and always had a smile on his face. He had a pack of chocolates in his hand. He came straight walking towards Siya. They shaked hands and then he handed over the pack of chocolates to Siya and then both of them sat on the bench.

Both sat quietly for sometime. They were not able to understand how to start the conversation. Both felt more comfortable talking over the phone.

Siddharth broke the silence and asked her about her college. This helped them getting comfortable and then they started sharing , talking , laughing. Time passed quickly, they wanted to talk but Siya was getting late as her grandmother was waiting and the  sun was also about to set.

Siddharth took a promise from Siya that she’ll meet him the next day  as he had to go back the same day. He wanted to spend some time with her and also wanted to take her to the temple. She promised and went back home.

They both knew each other  from their childhood, were always in contact  but this meeting made them feel for each other. Both of them felt different.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Siya just stepped inside the house. Her phone beeped. It was a text message from Siddharth. There was a spark in Siya’s eyes. She read the message, ‘Hey, really feeling good after meeting you. Hope tomorrow comes soonJ.’ Siya replied, ‘same here J.’

They never texted before even in emergencies. But today they were texting continuously, till late night. Siya could not sleep whole night thinking about her meeting with Siddharth. She was anxiously waiting for the morning when she could see him again. Same was with Siddharth.

Next day, Siya woke up early in the morning. She helped her grandmother with some household work. She told her grandmother that for some college work she has to go to her friends house and will be back by the evening.

Siya lied as she knew her grandmother like her family would not allow her to meet a guy, though he was her childhood friend. And, as now they were grown ups.

Siya left from home and went to the place where Siddharth was waiting for her. She saw him standing out of his car waiting for her. Both of them saw each other and smiled. Siddharth  opened the door of his car for Siya and made her sit comfortably and then he sat himself. He complimented her, ‘ache lag rhe ho’ and then gave her a flower.

It was first time when Siya was feeling shy, all she could say was ‘thank you’ and took the flower.

Siddharth started the conversation, ‘blue colour really suits you’. Siya said,’ ‘ this is one of my favourite colours’.

They kept talking formally for sometime, complementing each other, telling and asking their likes and dislikes. Again they were quiet.

Then Siya asked , ‘where are we going?’

Siddharth said, ‘ I want to take you to a temple’.

‘why me’ said Siya.

Siddharth could not repli,he just smiled and said, ‘I’ll tell you soon’.

Phone rang, it was Siddharth’s mom. He stopped his car at the side and attended the call. His mother asked something and he replied, ‘ this time I’ll definitely tell mom, don’t worry. I’ll call you back after sometime’. He disconnected the phone. They reached the temple. He again opened the door of the car for Siya and gave her his hand. She holded his hand and came out of  the car. They went inside the temple, prayed, had prashad and came out.

While going back to the car Siddharth  holded Siya’s hand and said, ‘I want to say something Siya but, I don’t know how you’ll react’. I don’t want to loose you ever. So. If you’ll feel bad about what I am going to say, just tell me, but don’t get angry.

Siya was not able to understand what Siddharth was trying to say. She said,’ why are you saying like this, what is the matter Siddharth’.

He replied, ‘first you promise me Siya, you’ll not get angry and you’ll not leave me, I mean our friendship’.

Siya was worried. She said , ‘ok, I’ll not get angry’.

Without waiting for a moment Siddharth said “I love you”. Siya was still and quiet, just listening to him. She had never thought of Siddharth saying this but some where in her heart she was happy  too. He continued, ‘I always liked you but, was waiting to be sure about my feelings, I could not stop myself thinking about you.. you were always more than a friend , Siya. I hope you are understanding my feelings..say something please…

Siya could not say anything. A tear rolled over her face. Siddharth holded her face and asked her, ‘do you love me?’ she just nodded her head.

They both were happy and on top of the world. Siddharth  made her sit in the car and with much more excitement sat near her, holded her hand and said, ‘never think that I am flirting with you, I wanted to say this before but, was waiting for the right time. I always see you with me in my future. I want to be with you forever. I want to listen from you Siya do you feel same for me’.

This time Siya spoke, ‘yes, I want to be with  you but, I am scared will our parents accept this relationship’.

Siddharth said, ‘ I have already thought about this, you don’t worry. My mom knows about this and my dad also and they too want us to be together’.

Siya was surprised to listen what Siddharth said. He again said, ‘ let the right time come, let me get settled, then my family will speak to your parents. Till that time you concentrate on your studies and I on my career’.

Then he called his mother, ‘ hello mom, we are together. Yes mom, speak to her’.

Siya was not able to understand what she should say to his mom though she knew her well but this time it was different. She said, ‘ Namaste aunty’.

Mom replied, ‘ Namaste beta, how are you’.

Siya replied, ‘ I am fine, how are you, aunty’.

I am also good and really very happy for you both.

Siya could not say anything she just smiled and  handed over the phone to Siddharth.

He told his mom that he’ll be back home by next day and disconnected the phone.

Siya never thought about this day, though she always wanted Siddharth to be with her. She was thanking god again and again in her heart as first time she got something in her life without even asking for it.

They both went to a restaurant and had lunch and then sat in the car for more than two hours talking and expressing their feelings. They promised each other that they’ll be together forever.

Siya was getting late so she asked Siddharth to drop her back. He wanted to spend some more time with her as he was going back the next day, but he was a responsible person so he dropped her back home.

Siya said ‘bye’ and was about to open the door of the car, he holded her hand and in a low voice said, ‘ I’ll miss you’. She replied ‘I’ll miss you too’ and then they both hugged for the first time.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Siya went back to her grandmother’s house. She was feeling very different. Something was blooming inside her. She helped her grandmother in preparing dinner  . They both had their dinner early and her grandmother after doing some household work went to sleep. Siya told her that she’ll study for  sometime so she sat in the drawing room with her books open, but was not able to study. She kept thinking about Siddharth. He loved her, she also loved him  but she was scared , scared of her destiny.  God never gave her what she wanted. She was never happy from her heart. But now she was, and she did not wanted to lose him ever.

While she was thinking her phone beeped, it was a text message from Siddharth. ‘kya kar rahe ho babu’.

His message made her smile and she texted him back, ‘ was thinking about you’.

Siddharth was happy to read her message and he again replied, ‘really, I am so lucky to have you in my life ‘.

This exchanging of messages continued for half an hour. Then Siddharth texted her that he wants to speak to her on the phone if she doesn’t have any problem. She replied with an “ok” and asked him to call after sometime. She wanted to check whether her grandmother  was  asleep or not.

She went to her room and checked. Her grandmother was in a sound sleep. She went back to the drawing room, put on her headphones, laid on the sofa and called Siddharth. He disconnected her call and called her back.

She answered ‘hello’

Sid- hy, how are you?

Siya- I am fine.  you?

Sid- hope you are comfortable talking to me this time.

Siya- yaa.

They both were quiet for sometime just listening to each others breath.

Siddharth broke the silence.

Sid- you had dinner?

Siya- yes I had, what about you?

Sid- yes, I too had. Can I ask you something Siya?

Siya- yes.

Sid- do u really love me.. he PAUSED FOR A WHILE …. I had feelings for you so I proposed you, but, I don’t know about you, you said you love me too, but is it really true?

Siya- Siddharth, I don’t know what is love. all I know is I  like you, I share everything with you, when you don’t answer my call, I feel bad and I think I’ll not talk to you again but when you call me back I feel happy, all my anger is gone. I keep thinking about you, I like the way you care for me, if this is love, then yes… I love you.

Sid- I am so happy Siya, I can’t even express. Siya I promise, I’ll not leave you ever. I want to spend my whole life with you, I want to marry you.

A tear rolled from her eye. She was not able to speak, with a heavy voice she replied, ‘ really’.

Sid- Yes Siya, my mom, my dad they know about my feelings for you, that  too from last seven years, when we use to play together. I told them that I’ll marry you when I grow up. And still after so many years my  feelings are same for you. And now I can’t even imagine my life without you.

Siya- I too…. We’ll be together. Always.

Sid- Yes Siya, always. Now when you are mine forever, leave everything on me and trust me babu, we’ll be together.

That night both of them could not sleep .They kept talking on the phone for hours.

It was 5 o clock in the morning. Siya’s grandmother woke up. She told Siddharth that her grandmother is awake . they wanted to talk more but she could be in trouble.

Siya had her college also at 10 but Siddharth asked her to meet him as he had to go back to his town.

Siya agreed and they decided to meet at 10. Then they slept for sometime.

Siya got ready for college and told her grandmother that after college she’ll go back to her house.

On the way Siddharth picked her up and they both went for a drive. Siddharth told her that once his M.B.A. is finished and he gets a good job his parents will come and speak to her family about their marriage. He said he wants just another two years and till that time her graduation will also be completed.

Siya smiled and nodded her head. But at the same time she said , ‘what if my  family doesn’t allow us to get married’.

Don’t say this Siya , said Siddharth.

“We’ll be together, it is just a start for us, think positively”. Just think about our future, what a wonderful  feeling it would be when we’ll be together… it will be awesome, right.

‘Yes’ replied Siya with a smile.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It was almost 11, Siddharth had to leave for Chandigarh in another one hour. He wanted to make this one hour special for Siya. He parked his car near a flower shop, purchased a red rose, opened the door for Siya, gave his hand to her and asked her to come out of the car. He sat on his knees with a rose in his hand(many people were present their). Siya was surprised and shocked too. People were looking at them. She asked Siddharth to get up but he directly proposed her, Siya, will you marry me?

She smiled and took the red rose and said ‘yes’ and immediately sat back in the car.

Siddharth  too sat back in the car, holded her hand and said, ‘I wanted to make this day a memorable and special day for you, but I was left with a little time and all I could do for you was this’.

Siya replied, ‘ you really made my day and I can never forget what you did for me..this is every girls dream…and you made my dream come true..

‘I love you and I can do anything for you.. I can even die for you Siya…’

Siya got angry and asked him not to say that again.

He said sorry and promised her that he’ll not repeat such words again. Then they went for a drive.

It was time to leave…

Siddharth told her that he’ll call her after reaching and also asked her to send a sms when she reaches __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Siya reached home and first thing she did before entering was that she texted Siddharth that she is safe home..then she went inside. Her mother asked her how she is back home so early from the college. Siya replied, ‘lectures were boring maa’ and went inside her room. She checked her cell phone, there was a text message from Siddharth , ‘ ok , take care, missng u’.  she  also replied   ‘missing you too’.

In the evening Siya was waiting for Siddharth’s call. Her eyes were on her table clock. Her phone rang..she answered at once..’hello’

Sid- hey, I just reached.

Siya- you got late, I was worried.

Sid- really

Siya- its not a joke, I was…

Sid- ok baba ,,I got stuck in the traffic jam.

Siya-  ok, u had something since morning, or not.

Sid- no, but I’ll have , don’t worry.

Siya- please go and eat something first, we’ll talk later.

Sid- I will..talk to me first.

Siya- go and meet uncle and aunty, eat something then we’ll talk.i promise.

Sid- I am missing u.

Siya- even I am missing you, but we’ll talk later.

Sid- ok den say you love me.

Siya- I do.

Sid- say.

 Siya- I said.

Sid- I’ll not disconnect the call till the time you say.

Siya- go now, please.

Sid- ( in a naughty tone) I wont.

Siya- ok baba, I ….. I …love you.

Sid- that’s like my sweetheart, ok bye will call you in sometime.

Siya- ok, bye.

They disconnected the phone.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Siya was happy ,she went to help her mother in the kitchen. Her mother was preparing daal and sabzi. She asked her mother how to make daal. “how you make daal..i also want to learn”.

Her mother was surprised , ‘ what, you want to learn cooking’, really.

‘yes maa’, Siya said smiling.

‘Really,ok, today you make daal, I’ll keep telling you how to make it’.

Siya’s mother guided her in making daal  and finally it was ready. Her mother tasted it and said, ‘Siya,it is really tasting good, well done’. Siya was feeling proud.

At the dinner time everyone in the family praised her. She was on top of the world. Her father gave her 500 rupees as first time she cooked something and it really tasted well.

After dinner everyone sat together. Siya wanted to go back to her room, but her mother asked her to sit with the family for sometime. She could not deny. Siya went to the washroom . as it was an excuse. She wanted to inform Siddharth that he had to wait. She took out her phone to text him. There was already a text message from him. He was waiting for Siya’s call. She texted him and asked him to wait for sometime. Then she went back and sat with everyone.

There was a big discussion about marriage. Her family was planning for her cousin sister Ishita’s marriage. Ishita was working in a multinational company in New delhi from last two years. And she had selected her life partner on her own(who worked in the same company with her). Her father was a little annoyed with her decision. But in the end he had to agree.

Siya was confused as she knew her family was too conservative. There were several questions in her mind, but she asked nothing.

After the discussion everyone went to sleep. Siya went to her room. She called Siddharth but there was no answer. She thought that may be he is asleep as it was too late. Siya could not stop thinking. On one side she was thinking about how her family got ready for a love marriage. On the other side she was thinking about her sister (who was the most stubborn person in the family). She swithed off the lights and went to her bed. Her phone rang. It was Siddharth. She answered and in a whispering tone said, ‘hello’. he told her that he slept waiting for her call. Siya asked him to sleep as he was sounding very sleepy. But he wanted to talk. Then they generally asked about their routine and all. Then Siya told him about the discussion in the family.

Siddharth said, ‘ Siya, its good for us, if your family can allow your sister for love marriage , that too intercast then they’ll definitely support us too’.

But Siya had some other questions in her mind.

In the same whispering tone she answered , ‘yes, may be’. They kept talking for hours, they realized when it was 4:00 am “too late”. Siya had her college. They wished goodnight and again there was a small fight to say ‘love you’. Then both of them slept.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It became a normal routine for them to tell where they are, where they have to go. And both of them liked telling each other what they are doing. There love grew more stronger day by day. Sometimes Siddharth came all the way from Chandigarh just to see and meet her without even informing his parents.

Few months passed, preparations for (Siya’s cousin) Ishita’s marriage started.

After a week there was a wedding in the family, everyone was busy as there were lots of functions and arrangements were being made. Invitations were sent to the relatives near and far away. Relatives from far away would reach four days before the marriage. Lots of shopping was pending. Siya was busy too. She told Siddharth that she’ll be busy for few days and will call him whenever she’ll get time. Still she was managing to call or text him in the same routine.

Siya had taken a long frock suit for wedding which was suggested by Siddharth. He wanted to see her in that dress. She told him that when she’ll get ready, she will send him her first photograph before anybody could see her.

Wedding day was near. Guests started arriving. There were three functions-ladies sangeet, shagun+engagement and then finally the wedding day.

Siya had lots of work to do but still she could afford talking to Siddharth in between, sending her photographs. He was happy, as he could make out that how much she cares for him. Though she could not talk to him like regular days but whenever she got time her priority was always him.

It was a wedding day. Siya looked beautiful in her dress. She clicked her photographs as soon as she got ready and forwarded them to Siddharth as per the promise she made to him. He was very happy. He immediately called her and complimented her, ‘ you look stunning babu. I am seriously waiting for the day when we’ll get married, you’ll look more beautiful in brides dress.’ Siya was blushing. She could not speak much as she was in the changing room and lots of people were standing out. She just said ‘ thank you’ and then said ‘now I have to go, you take care and have dinner on time, miss you’

He replied ‘ ok, you also have your dinner properly and do eat, love you’

Siya went out of the dressing room. Everybody praised her. She was really looking very beautiful in her violet colour dress with very light make up. She wore a small pendant with chain around her neck and some matching bangles in one hand and a brascelete on other hand.

Everyone noticed her as she was looking very different. She was the centre of attraction in the whole wedding.

The marriage ceremonies started with ‘ Jaimala’. There was a round stage on which  her sister and her jiju stood with heavy flower garlands in their hands. The stage was a bit high and revolving so that everyone could see the bride and the groom. The couple exchanged their mala’s and then there was shower of flowers all around the marriage hall. Photographers were busy clicking photographs of bride and groom along with their family, friends  and relatives. There was DJ. Siya danced with her friends and family members. Most of the young boys present in the wedding were not able to take there eyes off Siya. But she was busy in her own world dancing, enjoying, greeting her relatives and friends.

It was time for dinner. Siya sat with her sister and jiju and relatives. They all had dinner together.

After sometime ‘phera’s’ were about to start. Pandit ji called both the bride and the groom to the mandap and started chanting mantras. All the family members and close relatives sat there to see the ceremony. Her cousin were enjoying and laughing on the other hand her sister and jiju were taking vows to start their new life together. Siya was watching everything very carefully and was dreaming about her marriage with Siddharth.

After pheras were over, Siya and her cousins hided their jiju’s shoes (which is also a ceremony). Siya asked her jiju to give a big amount if he wants his shoes back and all others were supporting her. There was a big discussion on that and in the end her jiju gave money and they all returned his shoes. He also gifted Siya a gold ring.

It was time for vidai. All the family members and relatives got emotional. The wedding was over and now her sister had to leave. They started hugging Ishita. Then  Nakul, her brother made her sit in the car and the doli left.

After that all the family members and relatives started packing there stuff. Some of them went to sleep, as they were tired. Siya also went to sleep for sometime. Some of the relatives stayed back and some left for there home.

In the evening Siya called Siddharth and told him everything about the marriage. He was listening to her very carefully as she was very excited to tell him everything. She kept speaking for a long time and then realized and asked him that he was not feeling sleepy listening to her. They both laughed. As some of the relatives were still there so she told him to talk later as she could be in trouble. He agreed and they disconnected.

The other day all the relatives were gone. Both of them were back to their routine.

Few days passed, again there was some discussion in the family. Her  father’s  cousin brother was also present, who had come from Delhi. There was a marriage proposal for Siya. Somebody who had attended Ishita’s marriage had send a proposal of their son for Siya. When Siya got to know about the proposal she was shocked and scared and was not able to understand what to do. She immediately called Siddharth and told him the whole situation.

When Siddharth heard about that, he first did not understand what to do. Then he consoled her and asked her to speak to her mother and tell her that she is not yet prepared for marriage and wants to concentrate on her carrier.

Both of them knew that this common excuse may not work as they were conservative but thinking her cousins love marriage they had hope.

Siya gained some confidence and went to her mothers room. Her mother was busy arranging her cupboard. Siya was a bit scared this time..as it was not going to be a normal conversation like any other days and it was not a general demand which she was going to make. With many thoughts in her mind and with sad tone the only word she could speak was ‘MAA’.

Her mother turned and replied, “yes Siya, you want to say something”.

Siya was surprised to hear her mother. She replied, ‘how do you know that I want to say something’.

Maa-I know the reason why you have come to me Siya!

Siya- Why Maa?

Maa- to talk about this marriage proposal.. right?

Siya immediately replied-yes, and I am not ready for it.. I have my studies …my career. Please tell everyone in the family, not to think about my marriage.

Siya said everything at once.

Her mother  made her sit and said, ‘calm down Siya’. It is just a proposal, and without your consult nobody will make any decision. Siya took a deep breath after listening to her mother. Her mother continued, ‘ You never know Siya who is made for you, may be he is the one, may be not. May be someone else. This all depends on your destiny. So you don’t worry.’

Siya " but I hav not even completed my studies. I have a career ahead, I cant even think about marriage maa, so please I don’t even want to listen about it.

Her mother promised her that no one in the family would force her or even talk to her about marriage. Siya thanked her mother, but in her mind she knew this was just a beginning. She has to go through much more than this.

At night she called Siddharth and told him about the whole conversation she had with her mother. She still sounded very low and sad. Siddharth consoled her and said that he’ll soon find a way for it.

Few days passed , Siya again got busy with her studies and college. Her exams were about to start and this time she was preparing hard. She wanted to score a very good percentage and tell her family that a girl is not only made for marriage or taking care of the family.

Her exams started and Siya worked hard day and night. She was doing well in her exams..She shared about her exams with Siddharth. He was happy for her.

Exams  were over and results were out too. Siya scored 93% marks and also second highest topper in her batch. Her family was happy and proud and so was Siddharth.

Time passed. It was Siya’s last year in college and this year also she wanted to score a very good percentage than the previous year.

Siddharth was always a helping hand to her, who guided her when she was in any problem, acted as a good friend when she felt alone ,and ofcourse a good partner who always stood beside her in her hard times. He was everything to Siya and so was Siya to him. They felt so incomplete without eachother. Their togetherness was their strength. It seemed as if they both were never meant to be separated- together forever.

Siddharths  MBA was completed, he got a good placement from his college in a good company. He was doing well in his job. Siya was happy for him. They both started planning for their future life. What they’ll do, how would it will be when they’ll be together. The interiors of their room, colour of the walls, the curtains ,etc.. etc…. they started dreaming of a happy life.

Again one day some guests came to siya’s house. It was morning time and Siya was getting ready for the college. Her mother informed her about the arrival of the  guests and asked her not to attend the college and take leave. Siya was confused, she asked her mother why can’t she attend her college after seeing the guests? Why her presence is so much important?

Her mother told her that, some people had come along with her uncle from Delhi. She immediately understood why they had come and why her mother did not want her to attend the college. In an angry tone she told her mother, ‘ I will not meet them and I am going to the college’. Tears rolled on her face. She took her bag and ran out of the house.

Her mother tried calling her on the mobile, but Siya didnot take her call. Her mother  was ringing her continuously. After sometime she answered the call. Her mother requested her to come back home otherwise she could be in a big problem, as guests were there. She also said it was her uncles unplanned visit and promised her she’ll find some way.

Because of her mother’s request and Siddharth,s positive thinking Siya went back home. She met the guests and sat quietly on the sofa beside her. She answered whatever asked by her and did not utter a single word on her own. She was sad and angry too. She did not spoke with anyone that day.

The day passed.

Next morning she did not messaged Siddharth to wish good morning. He was surprised to see that and was tensed too, but he decided to wait for sometime. It was almost afternoon time and Siddharth was getting impatient as he did not receive any call or message from Siya, which never happened till date. He decide to call her. He picked up his cell phone and was about to dial her number.. his phone rang, yes … it was Sia. He answered on the first ring and without even listening to her asked so many things- where were you? Why didn’t you messaged in the morning? I was worried…. But there was no answer. The only sound he could hear was sobbing and heavy breath. He could make out that she was crying. He said sorry and asked her politely ‘what happened, please share with  me’. But Siya could not say anything. He again asked, ‘ please answer me, I am worried, please.’ Then he asked her to calm down first. After sometime Siya said- ‘ please take me from here, they’ll marry me to someone else.’ This made Siddharth tensed. He consoled her and asked her to tell everything whatever happened. Siya told him everything and kept crying.

It can be a big problem for us Siya, Siddharth said. He continued, ‘ and this time ill have to do something. I cant see you marrying someone else, he said in a heavy voice this time’. He made her quiet and asked her to wait till evening so that he could find out some ways.

Siya trusted him. She said, ‘ do something, otherwise I’ll die’. He promised her and asked her to behave normal with everyone at home and if any problem arises he asked her to text him.

Siya was back home from her college. She saw all her family members sitting and having a serious discussion over tea. She wanted to ask the reason why everyone was together or is their any problem but she straight away went into her room, kept her bag on the table, lie down on her bed and closed her eyes. She could feel her head terribly revolving because of the tension and pressure she was going through, may be she was thinking too much….she thought. Tears were rolling down from her eyes. She could not control them. Thinking about everything what was happening she went into the world of imagination…. Into the world of dreams…

“ Siya was forcefully married to a boy her family selected for her. She was dressed up as a bride. Her hands, head and neck covered with heavy jewellery. She was quiet and helpless. She sat in a car with that boy dressed up as a groom and went. Siddharth was running behind the car shouting.. calling her again and again.. Siya…… Siya.. please don’t go…. I cant live without you…. She could not do anything…just kept crying…and went”

Suddenly she woke up realizing it was just a dream.. but her eyes were still wet.. she got up from her bed and went into the bathroom to wash her face. She looked at herself in the mirror. Tears were gone, but the pain she was going through was visible in her eyes. She was waiting for Siddharth’s call. Waiting to know what he was planning for both of them.

Her phone ranged. It was him. She answered, but could not say anything. She slowly said ‘hmmm’.

‘ Hello beta, was the reply she got’. She did not understand who said this then she realized it was his mom. She collected her thoughts and wished his mother. Then again could not say anything. His mother understood from her voice that she was crying and is going through a lot of pain.

Sid mom- don’t get disheartened Siya. We are there with you both and after knowing everything from Siddharth , we had already taken a decision.

Siya did not understand what his mother was trying to say .. and she was scared about what decision his family had taken for them. Several questions ran into her mind at the same time. she regained her consciousness and in a slow tone said-‘I did not understand anything, aunty’.

Sid mom- I understand what you are going through, Siya. Same is Siddharth’s condition here. He doesnot want to loose you. And we know our son has never taken a wrong decision, and you are one of his best decisions he has ever made.

Siya felt happy and relaxed.

His mother continued- ‘ we are coming to see your family this weekend. And you don’t worry we’ll handle everything. Just relax. Now even we don’t want both of you to be apart. We also want you to join our family as soon as possible. Be happy always...’

His mother blessed her and handed over the phone to Siddharth.

Siya just smiled.

Siddharth was very excited. He was not able to express his feelings.. he continued speaking for a long time. He realized after few minutes. They both laughed together. Siya heard someone coming towards her room. She told him that she’ll speak later, he understood and they disconnected the call. Both of them were happy and excited for the weekend and ofcourse, the tension they were going through was soon going to be over forever.

Siya’s mother entered the room. She sat on the bed and after two minutes of silence she asked Siya, ‘why were you so angry Siya, you have to understand you are a girl and moreover a grown up now,  many such proposals will come, will you react in the same way everytime?’. Siya was quiet. She was listening to what her mother wanted her to explain. ‘Siya you have to be calm and have patience and understand this is part of life… not only you but every girl has to go through it, even much more than this. Siya was in a good mood. She did not wanted to interrupt her mother or argue with her as she was not convinced with the way her mother was trying to console her. She just said ‘sorry, it wont happen again’. Her mother smiled and went out of the room, calling her for dinner. Siya went out to have dinner. On the dining table also she did not say anything, she quietly had her dinner and went into her room telling her mom that she has to complete an assignment and submit it the very next day in the college.

Siya immediately locked her room as soon as she entered. She called him-they were not able to say anything…it was a dream come true for them.

Two days seemed like two years to them. They counted minutes and even the seconds. They were soon going to be one soul. Siya was nervous too. She did not understand what will she tell her family about him when they’ll ask her. But Siddharth was confident. He explained her how she should answer her family calmly and patiently.

Finally, the wait was over.

Siddharth informed Siya that they were starting and would reach her house within 5-6 hours. It was a weekend and Siya was home. She was shivering with excitement and wished her college was on even on weekends. Her nervousness increased with every passing minute. She was not able to do anything. It was  almost noon time. Siddharth and his family could reach any time.

Her family just got over with lunch. Siya could not eat anything. She quietly took her plate and went inside her room, confirming nobody noticing her. She stood at the window of her room.. waiting for them to arrive. From around 100mtrs distance she recognized his car. Her body started shaking. She closed her window and sat on her bed with a book in her hand.. pretending as she was studying. But her mind was at the door.

The doorbell rang.

She ran towards the door of her room and saw her aunt opening the door. Siddharth with his mother and father entered and wished her family. While Siddharth touched her aunt’s feet and she blessed him. She could not make out what they said but they were welcomed inside and directed towards the drawing room. Her aunt went to the kitchen and within a minute came out with water followed by her grandmother , father , mother and uncle. Siya was curious to know what was happening.

Her phone beeped.

There was a message from Siddharth- ‘ don’t worry, everything going on well. I am always with you’

She waited in her room that someone might come and call her, but nobody came. Half an hour passed. She was still standing at the door. She saw her mother coming towards her room. She at once ran towards her bed and started reading her book with  a pencil in her mouth.

Her mother entered. Siya did not look at her, she pretended as if she had not seen her. ‘Siya’ called her mother. ‘yes maa’ ,said Siya.

Siya’s mom-Somebody has come home. There’s a proposal for you.

Siya- what .. not again maa.

Siya’s mom- don’t behave as if you don’t know anything.

Siya was quiet.. she was scared too. Her mother continued…

Mom- you would have told me Siya. I always told you we will never go against your wish.

She kept quiet without uttering a single word with her head down.

Mom- now don’t waste time. Go and get ready fast, somebody is curiously waiting for you….and her mother smiled.

Siya was shocked to hear that from her mother. She got up and  tightly hugged her and said thank you.

Siya- I hope everyone is ok with this!

Mom- yes , nobody has any problem. I know Siddharth’s family and he is  a nice boy. Now, you go and get ready quickly.

Siya was very happy. She was not able to hide her happiness and excitement. This was the only thing she wanted and dreamt of till now.. she thanked god and quickly got ready. She wore a pink suit and was looking very pretty. Her mother took her to the drawing room where guests were sitting. As she entered everybody was quiet and started looking at her. Her head was down .She was feeling very shy. Even Siddharth  sat quietly on the sofa along with her father.

Siddharth’s mother got up and came to receive her. Siya wished her and his father silently by nodding her head. His mother made both of them sit together. They both were silent. Siddharth’s mother again broke the silence.‘I want Siya to join our family as soon as possible,if you don’t have any problem’ she said looking at Siya’s grandmother.

Her uncle responded, ‘no no, we don’t have any problem, from today she is yours, we have got such a good family and son in law for our daughter. Thank you so much, he said joining his hands’.

Then all started offering sweets to each other. Siddharth very cleverly

Bent down showing as if he was looking for something wished Siya, ‘ congratulations future Mrs Siddharth’. She just smiled and nodded her head slowly.

Siddharth and his family stayed there till evening. They both also got sometime to spend with each other. Siya showed her house and then took him in her room. Siddharth slowly closed the door of her room but did not lock it. He took her hand in his hand and went near her, kissed her forehead and then they both hugged each other. They were quiet and stayed in the same position for almost ten minutes. Realizing somebody could come anytime they maintained a distance.

Sid- happy, my love.

Siya- yes, very happy.

They both sat in her room for sometime. She asked him about how they convinced her family within an hour. As she was confused and surprised too because her family did not say anything to her. They did not  even asked her anything. It  was really very strange.

Sid- my mother told everything to your family. Your uncle and other family members were questioning your mother, but my parents told that, that accept you, me and them nobody else knows about us. Then they asked some questions from me also. He smiled.

Siya- ‘questions’ , what questions?

Sid- lets not discuss all this, Siya. they just wanted to know what all I can do to maintain a balance in family life and have a happy living.my family requested your family not to cross question you. That’s it.and now we are together… legally. He blinked his eye.

‘Siddharth, lets go. Otherwise we’ll reach late’. Called his father.

And now it was time to leave. Siddharth hugged her again saying, ‘ I promise you Siya ill always try to keep you happy and far from all the problems in life, and throughout my life and in all births I want you as my soulmate, really lucky to have you in my life’. ‘me too’, Siya replied with tears of happiness in her eyes. They  both went out together. Siya’s family asked her to touch his parents feet and take blessings from them. She happily did so. His mother hugged her and said, ‘ god bless you, beta, next time when we’ll come, we’ll take you along’. Everybody laughed and bid goodbye to them.

Later that day, the main discussion at dinner time was ,Siya. Her family was happy for her. They did not say or ask anything from Siya, but praised her for her choice. everything seemed like a dream to her. She never thought her family would support her for this. She thanked god million times for making everything possible for her so easily. Dinner was over and everyone went to sleep. Siya went to her thinking about the day, she found herself surrounded with joy and happiness. she was checking her phone again and again, waitimg for Siddharth’s call or text. Thinking and  dreaming about her future she slept. She was awake with the vibration of her phone. She checked the time. It was aroung 12:40 am. She answered the phone in a sleepy voice.

Siya- hello, you reached?

Sid- yes, we got a little late due to traffic. Were you sleeping? Sorry, I disturbed.

Siya- no, I was waiting for your call.

Sid- you sleep, you must be tired and you have your college also tomorrow. Ill call you in the morning Mrs Siddharth… love you always.

Siya smiled and said, ‘you also take rest, you are more tired than me- my future husband. They both laughed and wished Good night.

A weekend changed their life. Siya was becoming more responsible day by day. She started taking interest in household work, cooking, taking care of her things.. she wanted to learn everything for Siddharth. Her mother was surprised and happy to see the  change in her.

Same was happening with Siddharth. Though he was a responsible and caring boy, but he became more orgainsed. He wanted a perfect and happy life with Siya and his family. He wanted to make a balance beforehand and get use to of it so that Siya doesn’t face any problem when they ill be together.
