Stepping upon the great rock I held the world in my eyes
Great and powerful, I stood above all who lived The creature was coming; I saw his red cape flow in front of the sunrise Soon it’ll be here, it’ll damn the ground of which I have thrived The ocean thousands of feet below me crashes amongst the rocks I see the sun, I hear the gulls, and I couldn’t look away from the beauty I just couldn’t I saw it, tall and raucous, dragging it’s long red cape moving like a fox Panic came upon me, a tear rolls down for those I loved, and the ground is sooty I turn away from the creature and I look into the sun, stretching my arms out The creature opens it long clawed hand and reaches for my perspiring entity It’s jaws opened, ready to indulge in my flesh; I shout in pain One quick movement of my leg and I step upon the clammy air I feel red-hot pain in my back; the creature’s claws have hooked my flesh I hang dangling from the cliff top; it pulls me towards its gaping jaws All I can see is that damn red cloak enveloping me, making me a mesh I turn and stare into the creature’s lifeless eyes; I push away its claws and push off the rock Blood flies in the air as we fly like birds towards the ground, sound disappears We fly by the sun; I see my loved ones smile before my eyes A grin creeps on my face, all at once we slow down I see as I adhere to the ground My body floats above, time has stopped, and a white light blinds me as I continue to defy those ancient laws The water splashes our decomposing flesh, a wet red cape wrapped around both of us like a cocoon ready to open and bring beauty. What’s up is down, I see what I hear, and I’m touching what I smell, my ring falls off of my hand. The sea takes it and it swirls and turns falling into the dark abyss, my eyes darken but my smile remains. © 2015 shukisrl |
