Multiverse

A Poem by Blaine Shrum
"

How many different fates await behind each decision we make in this life?

"

Multiverse

In a Near Galaxy…

A book awaits

Black words rest on white pages

Pages that will become us

A new chapter arrives

A chapter we read together

The words seem bolder, the pages brighter

Our eyes look to the next chapter

Where will the words lead us?

We hold the story, the story holds us

We read on

Hoping the last chapter never arrives

-----

In a Farther Galaxy…

Meet me in the clouds

Where dreams rest

Yours in one corner

Mine in another

Something great begins

Our dreams collide

They are the same

Yet they are different

What now

Your dreams become mine

My dreams become your

Now we dream together

-----

In a Near Universe…

Alone you wait

Alone I wait

Again we wait

What are we waiting for?

Do we wait for others?

Do we wait for ourselves?

Do we wait for each other?

Do we know what we are waiting for?

Can the stars guide us?

Can the moonlight illuminate us?

Should we wait for the sun,

Or chance the darkness?

-----

In a Parallel Universe…

It appears briefly

Only for a second

A reflection

I am there

Again it appears

Even more briefly

A reflection

You are there

Once more

A reflection

Our reflection

Will it vanish?

-----

In this Universe…

I hope

I dream

I plan

I imagine

Hope for a miracle

Dream of happiness

Plan for everything

Imagine a life

Begin to see

Not you

Someone unknown

I begin again.

Each stanza had a touching meaning. However, I feel your writing would be stronger separated into different poems. It may just be me though. Otherwise, well done! :)
