This Was

This Was

A Poem by Connor

Roman candles spread like spider webs,
and sand beneath our feet,
this is where the tide,
ebbs and flows.
This is where the flowers grow,
this is where the river flows.
Let's pour asphalt haphazardly,
build buildings out of concrete.
Burning like mad candles,
the sky lights up, we left our sandals,
at the edge of society.
This is a chaotic breed.
This is where the flowers grow,
this is where the river flows.
Let's pour asphalt haphazardly,
build buildings out of concrete
This was where the river was,
this was where the flowers grew.
