You Are

You Are

A Poem by Connor

move, twist, squirm and scream, resist
instigate, collaborate, do it, i insist
take a hammer to the grayest rock
watch the crystalline reflections
of the sun inside, dive in, take a glide
a trip through that which isn't
become florescent, i dare you
if its pleasant, i hope it scares you
the rare, the change attached to the strange
don't question my range ill span the spectrum
not the perfect specimen, rest your
insecurities in the dents of my flawed surface
in it, maybe, you can find some purpose
its not up to anyone but the individual
to define the same individual
resist the residual uniform material
stuck to the sides of a monotone machine
bleeding green and gold selling the obscene
you lean and you rock and you carry a glock
think about nothing except the arts as a path
to your dried out c**k, f**k it i read i write,
i think i exist but how many can acknowledge
thats not enough, i know i'm no better but at least i live
break out, the body can be free but the mind remains captive

quite the peculiar piece here, and it perplexes my mind even after reading it twice over. nonetheless, i understand the simplicity in its meaning, and find this to be beautifully crafted after my third time reading it through.
