Apartments and Alleys

Apartments and Alleys

A Poem by Connor

the diamond alley
sparkling, like stars
embedded in asphalt
the cold air, brushing cheeks
and brushing hair
across foreheads.
the moon calls to it's stars
reaching out from the asphalt
they grow and multiply, like
cells dividing in a gravelly body
tiny rocks crushed
beneath rubber soles
the crunching and rolling
of pebbles along the stars
trees sway, and the water reflects
red brick buildings, mountains and valleys,
apartments and alleys.

Gorgeous imagery - love this bit: "the moon calls to it's stars
reaching out from the asphalt..." Though perhaps in general, could have used a little more punctuation?
