Grey

Grey

A Poem by Connor

grey skies, leafless trees all around me
brick apartments create valleys out of the streets
at the place where the two roads meet
wondering down the sidewalk lost and happy
needles rise through the clouds and watch over us all
reaching so high i'm conviced the stars will fall
this frgid gray atmosphere permeates the very soul of me
and yet joys is all around me a literary romantic
desperation leaps between oxygen molecules into
my lungs reaching into the very bottom of all that is me
this grey world with grey clouds and the grey reflection
of the streets on the red buildings. it is not a grey
of neutral or nothing it is something to look past
see inside it and all that it does like a black and white
photograph in a museum that which illustrates this day
like a children's coloring book with a single crayon
creates the most romantic image of a busy city
that one can find.
