In a twisted wayA Poem by Shreyas TripathyA grieving father's words while the murderer of her daughter gets the hoop of deathYou sucked the life out of her While she reached out to me, helpless Slowly the light in her eyes faded As her screams engulfed me like darkness
The ground from under my feet slipped out The world around me collapsed, turned to dust If only I had my faithful, old, blunt blade with me To run through your throat to cleanse its rust
But now I stand empowered, unarmed yet strong The tears in my eyes have now dried out To see the terror, the fear, the agony in your eyes The very same when you made my darling scream and shout
The pain, ah, that you are about to feel now Might somehow cancel out mine, in a twisted kinda way But there would be no better sight than to see you helpless, The ground beneath you gone and your lifeless body sway © 2013 Shreyas Tripathy |
